The Information Center Gala Celebration

Crystal Gardens, 6703 Fort St, Southgate, MI

The annual gala celebration put on by The Information Center is expected to raise tens of thousands of dollars for the charity.

The event, set for Oct. 12, will once again be hosted by Crystal Gardens Banquet Center in Southgate.

This year Annabelle Road will headline the gala, which brings in different performers, comedians and other celebrities each year.

Celebrating “Country Style”. Downriver’s own, Dr. Noel Jackson will emcee the evening as the country themed band performs throughout the night.

Jackson has been a cosmetic, implant and family dentist since 1980. He is the founder and president of DYPAC, Downriver Youth Performing Arts Center, a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Trenton and an avid community volunteer.

American Cancer Society Cattle Baron's Ball

99.5 WYCD’s Rockin’ Country Fest w/ Old Dominion

Heritage Park, 12111 Pardee Rd., Taylor, MI

99.5 WYCD’s Rockin’ Country Fest will bring non-stop country music, food and fun to the picturesque outdoor setting of Heritage Park in Taylor, Michigan on Friday, September 8 and Saturday, September 9.

Legendary musician and actor Billy Ray Cyrus will headline the festival on Friday. Cyrus’ album “Some Gave All” skyrocketed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Albums Chart, where it stayed for 17 consecutive weeks – an all-time record for a solo male artist. Also appearing Friday will be up-and-coming trio The Railers, who were recently picked by Rolling Stone magazine for its first “10 Country Artists You Need to Know.”

Leading the talented lineup on Saturday is Old Dominion, who was named 2016 ACM New Group of the Year, ACCA Breakthrough Group of the Year, AIMP Songwriter Artist of the Year and Music Row Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Their highly-anticipated second album, Happy Endings, is due out later in August.

Saturday’s performers also include a collection of talented, young singer/songwriters. Breakout artist Carly Pearce has been named an “Artist to Watch” by such publications as Rolling Stone Country, The Huffington Post and Country Living. The festival begins at 4 p.m. on Friday and at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Tickets are on sale now through the festival’s official website rockincountrymusicfestival.com. General admission tickets for each day are $25 adults/$12 kids 10-under.

Special standing-room pit passes are $35 each day. Two-day festival passes are $39 adult/$20 kids 10-under for general admission and $59 for special standing-room pit passes.

Our Lady of the Angels Festival

The annual parish summer festival at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church is set at the St. Cyril Fairgrounds, 6442 Pelham Road, just south of I-94.

Our Lady of the Angels is the merged parish of the former St. Cyril of Jerusalem and St. Paschal Baylon churches.

The festival features Wade Shows carnival rides, entertainment, Vegas games, Bingo, a game tent, ethnic foods, 50/50 drawings on the hour, a $12,000 grand prize drawing and more.
